They keep you updated on progress, come on time and when there has been minor issues they try to resolve it in a timely fashion. We are extremely happy with install of a new sliding glass patio door by Hegg. Prior to install, an issue with the foundation in our basement beneath the door was discovered, needing repair before going forward. The Hegg team quickly met to discuss a course of action and got right to work, first with the correction, then the new door was installed. What is important to know is that the Hegg team "had the necessary skills to know how to correct the issue on the spot, allowing for the completion of the door install the same day as scheduled". Communication and instruction on usage of the new door was also specific. It's been two days since install and we are loving our new ProVia Patio Door and impressed with the quality!

The amount of checks throughout the process was jaw dropping. They go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect.Everyone is an employee and there are no subcontractors. Edit: 5 years later on and I'm having them back for another window installation. It was a 6 month wait to get them here, but I'm posting this to say that THEY'RE WORTH THE WAIT. It's a testament to how great this company is that they've grown from a 2 owners/2 workers operation to a 20-25 person operation in just 4 years or so.Original review: How did it go?? I'm gonna tell you everything. I'm sorry they're gone, and want to come up with more money to have them back. I've never hired a company, not even from Angie's List, that has performed like Hegg. We had 23 wood casement windows replaced on our 100 year old home; they were literally falling off the house at times. Dave came over, was professional yet personable and approachable all at the same time, and showed us what's available in various price points for wood windows that would be appropriate for a house of this style and age. I wasn't happy that the trim had to be replaced, but they assured me that it would match exactly what had been there before, and for once I succumbed and trusted them. They inspire that. So, they're all finished, and they are PERFECT. They're extremely high quality windows with only the best materials (my trim is treated cedar! Do you know how high end that is??) and they came in at the LOWEST BID. How often does that happen?? Some big name companies quoted more than double the price I paid. One company quoted me about 48k with me replacing all the trim work myself, inside and out, another quoted 64k for the same. I was so desperate for windows I was considering it. Thank God Dave and Justin came, it's honestly like I lucked out here. Their installers are really nice guys who are very conscientious of your home and actually clean up and vacuum after every shift. Wow! Justin came himself to help with the finish work and to make sure things turned out OK. As it happens, some of the trim wasn't exactly as it had been--he went to the store, found the right router bit, removed all the trim he'd already put up and redid it all. I couldn't believe it. Poor people like me just don't earn this kind of service. They're even coming back later to replace a couple little parts that didn't come from the factory in perfect condition. This sounds like a planted review, but I swear it's not. I'm just so excited about my new windows I've waited so long for, and I do really like telling people what I think, so here it is. Please whatever you do, before you hire Renewal by Anderson or Apco or Infinity by Marvin or whatever, please call these guys, they have several different lines to fit what people are looking for; Dave actually told me he had regular old vinyl windows if that's what I wanted, but he would be sad if that's what I wanted for my craftsman house. And you don't want to make Dave sad.UPDATE: Dave stopped by and didn't like how many of my screens were sitting in the frames, so he's ordering new screens. He says as many screens as it takes to make it right. I didn't even know it was an issue.(I'm reposting this review here since Google made them 2 pages by mistake.)

Bought 2 exterior doors and 3 storm doors that were installed by HEGG. The product was good quality and the install crews were easy to work with. One entry had some measurement issues and they made sure everything was corrected and fit properly. HEGG are a pricier choice but you’re paying for the customer service and a company that backs their workmanship.

I can't say enough good things about Hegg. We just completed a window replacement project with them and it was a great experience. From start to finish, from the original quote to the final inspection, every single person we interacted with was a pleasure to work with. If only every home repair project went this smoothly! It's too bad that they only do windows and doors because I'd hire them for other projects if I could; the experience was that good.The initial consultation/estimate was a low-pressure visit. We never felt coerced, and they were patient with us as we asked a lot of questions--particularly about how window replacement would work in our old house. The install team was also great. They were Hegg employees, no subcontractors here, and they were clearly dedicated to their craft. Finally, after the windows were installed, we had a final review to check the work and fill us in on the care and warranty for our windows.You'd think that, after all that, we would have paid an arm and a leg for a quality product and quality service. You'd be wrong. Their prices were very competitive, and came in lower than other major manufacturers that you're probably familiar with.I'd absolutely recommend Hegg to anyone and in fact already have recommended them to several friends.

In a time when customer service seems to be a by-gone commodity and often an oxymoron, HEGG stands out as a leader, not only in product, but in employees. Every employee that I encountered was exceptionally professional, polite, enthusiastic (you do not see that too often anymore), and proud to be an employee of HEGG. The installers were extremely professional and knowledgeable and did not hesitate to answer any questions. The front line telephone contact was just the best. She could give others lessons on how to represent a company in a professional, friendly manner on the phone. She kept me up to date during the entire process. The follow up employees (painting of trim and quality control) were also excellent examples of how employees should represent themselves and their company. I had all my windows replaced and it has made a noticeable difference in eliminating drafty windows in my house. They are easy to operate and look absolutely great.HEGG is a step above in my opinion. I would use them again in a heartbeat and recommend them highly to anyone. This company and employees have gone along way in reassuring me that good, no, GREAT, companies do and can still exist. I received two estimates for replacing my windows, both within $500 of each other but HEGG stood out and I went with them. Best decision.

I just wanted to say this company is simply awesome. From the quote visit, to scheduling, to installation, and everything in between was fantastic with Hegg. The Provia window is fantastic!! We got at least 5 quotes, to include Rosati, and Hegg just felt like the right company to go with and boy we made a great decision. From Mallory on the phone taking questions and scheduling, to John and John who installed, and finally with Josh for the trim. Everyone was a distinct pleasure to deal with! I'm sure you already have more work in the Newark area as I tell everyone about your service and product. I'll most certainly be using them in the future and you should as well. By the way, their quote was middle of the road out of all five quotes. Go with these guys, you will not be disappointed!!

From start, we had the best experience with HEGG. We had initially consulted with Andersons, so we had an opportunity to compare our experiences with both. HEGG was refreshing; they were so accommodating, prompt and supportive every step of the way. Their communication was consistent, updating us on every step of the process. Their prices are reasonable without skimping on the quality, our doors are absolutely beautiful! On top of it all, every team member is friendly and so passionate about giving the customer the best experience possible. I was pretty excited about getting a new door from Hegg since I read about their excellent customer service. I chose a door from a top brand, a door that had a glass panel in the middle with an internal blind. As I waited for my installation date, the Hegg team consistently emailed updates. I never had to call to ask for a status. Upon installation, the glass inside the door had a flaw, so a new "glass pack" had to be installed - this happened twice and was not the Hegg team's fault, as the glass and door came from the manufacturer. Justin, in particular, was incredibly honest and human. He didn't understand why the door had flaws and worked diligently with the manufacturer. He was upset that the door wasn't perfect and really cares about the customer experience. He even called me one Sunday night after putting his kids to bed. He made sure I was taken care of. I appreciated that I got to see a business owner be really human and not try to spin the situation. I also want to note that the staff is diverse. I had a retired man and a young woman working at my house on the door who knew about each other's lives and were very respectful of one another. It was nice to see various generations working together and having genuine connections at this company. I haven't experienced this dedication from any other company and would use Hegg again. Relationships matter to them.

Such a positive experience! It started with a phone call from Dave after I submitted an online request. After speaking with Dave, I was convinced that this was the company I wanted to work with. Very honest, upfront and knowledgeable. Landon followed up with an in home visit for a quote and details. No pressure at all, unlike some of the companies you see advertised on TV. That was a big plus for me… no price haggling and discounts for “buy now” , just straightforward pricing that BEATS the competition! Tina and office staff kept me in the loop regularly for projected timelines.Our installers Jake and Brock were excellent. On time, expert installation. Knowledgeable and able to quickly apply solutions when up against any tricky existing home trim challenges! Oh, and completely cleaned up when done. We had 7 windows replaced. We will have back of the house done soon. Highly recommend!

They were on time, pleasant, the windows work well and it was the icing on a really positive process.The windows took several months to arrive after my initial meeting with the sales person (who was also really nice and didn't insist on giving me a long presentation - yay!). During the wait I got regular calls/emails to update me on the schedule.The entire process was smooth and positive. We purchased 7 windows, a front door, and a storm door from HEGG, and have had the best experience with a contractor ever, and we've worked with many! We compared them to 3 other companies and they won for a few reasons, value, warranty, customer service, responsiveness, and the no pressure sales.The whole HEGG team was amazing to work with from start to finish. Landon was great during the purchasing process, working with the Historic committee, and the limitations there we had in terms of choices. Tina and the girls in the office were so communicative throughout the entire process, calling every month to let me know what the timeline was looking like on the order and install and they always followed up with an email. Jeremy and Josh were amazing installers - they got all the windows and doors in in 5 days (full frame replacement). I was impressed by the very minimal amount of damage that occurred as I expected quite a bit for a 100 year old house. They were also super clean and cleaned up after themselves at the end of every day. Two more Joshs came by to do finishing touches on the drywall and painting and they were also great to work with, arrived on time cleaned up after themselves. We are so pleased with the final product, and won't hesitate to call them back to replace our remaining windows in the future.
